Legal & Our Commitments

Last updated: September 30, 2026

Kalamkari House (kalamkarihouse.in) sells Kalamkari from Pedana, Andhra Pradesh. This page sets out, plainly, the rules we follow and the promises we keep. Our Terms & Conditions, Privacy Policy, Returns & Replacement Policy and Shipping Policy give the details.

1. We follow Indian law

We run this shop in line with the laws of India, including the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 and the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020, the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and the tax laws that apply to us. That means, among other things: prices shown include all taxes, the shipping charge is shown before you pay, every product page states what the piece is made of, and we never publish fake reviews or misleading prices.

2. Genuine, and made in India

Every piece comes from Pedana, Andhra Pradesh, the home of Kalamkari, and carries a traditional Kalamkari design. Country of origin: India. Each product page states how the piece is made (hand-painted, block-printed or screen-printed) and what it is made of, and the photos show the actual product. Small differences in colour and pattern between pieces are natural.

3. No animal is harmed

No animal is killed or harmed to make our products. Our pieces are made of cotton and other plant fibres. If we ever offer a piece made with an animal fibre, such as silk, its product page will say so clearly.

4. Your personal information

  • We ask only for what your order needs: your name, email address, mobile number and delivery address. We keep your orders so we can deliver and support them, and (only to keep the site secure and working) technical details such as your IP address. Anything more, like visit statistics, only with your consent (see our Cookie Policy).
  • We never see your card, UPI or bank details. Payments are handled directly by our payment partner, Razorpay.
  • We never sell, rent or share your information for marketing or any other purpose. It goes only to the services that deliver your order: the courier (name, phone and address, to deliver it), Razorpay (to take the payment), our email service (to send order emails) and our secure hosting.
  • We protect it: the whole site is encrypted (HTTPS), passwords are stored only in scrambled form, and only authorised staff can see orders. If a data breach ever happened, we would inform you and the Data Protection Board of India, as the law requires.
  • It's yours: download or delete your account's data at any time from Account → Settings.

5. Complaints and the Grievance Officer

If something isn't right, please tell us first; most problems are solved in one message. WhatsApp or call +91 9494139351 (Monday to Saturday, 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM), or email care@kalamkarihouse.in. We acknowledge every complaint within 48 hours and resolve it within one month, as the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020 require.

6. Disputes

These commitments, our terms and every purchase are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Eluru, Eluru District (formerly part of West Godavari District), Andhra Pradesh. This does not take away your right as a consumer, under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, to file a complaint with the Consumer Commission where you live or work.
